S/S 2011 Trend : Asian Inspired

Chinoiserie was a recurrent theme for Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011 collection created by Marc Jacobs  for as Asian-inspired pieces walked down the runway like the color-blocked cheongsam dresses, mandarin collared jackets and lavishly ornamental tasseled accessories.

Pitti Uomo has created a fabulous Haider Ackermann spring 2011 collection which is presented an exuberant mixture of Samurai and hardedge biker. From rugged leather biker jackets and vests, over beautiful evening dresses with a tons of robes, obi belts, and bright color contrasts.

Carolina Herrera's program notes explained that Spring was inspired by two things: the traditional clothes of Korea and botanical plates collected in the eighteenth century. It was a dazzling blend of East-meets-West and the hats and costumes and details were just so fantastic.

Dries Van Noten's new collection had an entirely primal origin. The designer came up with an ombré effect, especially when it intersected with the collection's other key reference point-Chinese ceramics. ut Van Noten, who routinely develops fascinating fabrics, took bleach to some and added floral prints inspired by the subtle color.
